A few thoughts from Chris Jones on his little stroll through the capital:
This was my first London Marathon, having won a club place at the Christmas party (sorry, Jeremy!). Everyone was telling me what an amazing day it would be and I can honestly say I’ve never done anything like it. The excitement, the crowds, the noise, the sights, just the overwhelming positive feeling of it all – they carried me to 22 miles before I really started to need to put some effort in. I was pleased to run an almost even pace throughout, having faded badly in previous marathons, and I’m still bouncing from knocking 16 minutes off my PB from the Town Moor a few years ago. Congratulations to Roberto and Joyce for amazing times. And a huge thank you to Claremont for giving me the opportunity to do it!
